group discussion for 4-19

Today in our group we took the examples of alliteration, assonance, and consonance and figured out there specific meaning then we figured out the reason why it was important fot the authors argument.
A specific example of one of the assonance examples we found was," when i was as old as you, I was a feeling fellow enough, partial to the unfledged ,unfrosted and unlucky".
The eplanation of this example was, that this qutoe from Mr. Rochester to Jane is showing how they are unegual, and how Mr.Rochester is "above" Jane, because he has a family, money and he is a male.
The reason why this example shows emphasis is it shows how during the Victorian age how people were superficial and judged people by their sex, what was on the outside.

We bagan to do this with the rest of our examples also.

Re: Question on sentence length relating to the story.

Sentence length affects many aspects of the story depending on what is going on at that actual moment. One example we came upon while completing our project was on page 66. The long sentence that Bronte adds is meant to convey confusion and chaos to the reader(this part of the story has numerous chaotic scenes in Janes life; i suggest you go check page 66 out). I hope i've answered your questions. If you have any more or you need me to clarify just ask. ~Matt
